In The Hungry Lamb, players traverse ancient China in a dark, boundary-pushing visual novel inspired by traditional Chinese art and modern animation.
During the reign of Chongzhen (A.D. 1628-1644), the Ming dynasty faces domestic turmoil and foreign invasions amidst the catastrophic Little Ice Age. The empire’s extreme land annexation alongside relentless disasters results in widespread starvation, inciting multiple rebellions against an oppressive court.
Players will join Liang, a bandit, as he and his companion escort four girls to a wealthy lord in Luoyang. Unbeknownst to them, the lord is a swine demon who devours young women on his birthday. One of the girls, Sui, hopes to enlist Liang’s help to avenge her sister, a previous victim of the demon’s appetite. Throughout the journey, players will gather intel, unravel deadly truths, and make crucial decisions.
